Developing Inspired Academic Minds, Overcoming Negative Devices

The D.I.A.M.O.N.D. Programs encorporate the non-scholarship programming of the DIAMOND Foundation, Inc.  These areas include leadership training, mentoring and academic achievement.  The most prominent program at this time is the Kappa Leaderhip League.

Kappa Leadership League
Kappa Leadership League is part of the Guide Right Program of the New Brunswick Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.  This program serves as a mentoring and leadership training program specifically for young men.  This program is part of the New Brunswick Alumni Saving Young Black Males Inititative.  Given the declining number of African-American males in college and rising number of African-Americal males in the the American prison system, it is incumbent upon groups, churches, and neighborhoods to intervene and become the soltuion.  Through the Kappa Leadership League, the young men attend monthly business meetings focused on topics such as professional attire and behavior, education and career choices.  This year the Kappa Leaguers are planning their own Black History Month Program to be held on Friday, February 29, 2008 at the East Franklin Firehouse in Somerset, NJ.  They will also participate in a three month Stock Investment Competition in which each team manages a $100,000 portfolio.  There are five Kappa League teams.
